The Heart of Our Mission

Who can participate in a session?

Anyone ages 5-18!

While we believe anyone could benefit from what the ranch has to offer, we primarily aim to target disadvantaged youth in the Lakes Area.

What do you mean by disadvantaged?
  • At risk youth

  • Foster children

  • Those with special needs

  • Those with emotional behavior disorders

  • Those with learning disabilities

  • Low Income

What is a session?

A 90 minute time period with the first 30 minutes being spent doing a typical ranch chore or project. This may include: cleaning stalls, feeding animals, or weeding the gardens. The following 60 minutes are spent doing an activity of the child’s choosing such as: horse back riding, playing with the dogs, playing a game, or crafting. Sessions usually occur once a week but are based on mentor availability.

What does a session cost?

Though donations are always welcome, we offer our sessions at NO COST to qualifying kiddos! We are almost 100% donor supported.

Do you only do one on one sessions?

No! Periodically, we will hope group sessions, group volunteer opportunities, or even summer camp events! These special sessions are based on volunteer and mentor availability.

Thank you for teaching me some riding tips that were really helpful. I had so much fun riding and helping out. It really inspired me to ride horses and work with the kids it's my favorite thing to do thanks to you!
