Why Rescue?
We believe that Being a Light for Those in Need extends to all of God's creatures. Rescuing is a part of our mission that is achieved by taking in animals (mostly horses) that have been neglected, abused, or surrendered because their owners can no longer care for them. These horses are then evaluated and either stay at the ranch to be used in our program, or are adopted out to special families.
Though some of our horses are purchased or donated, we have a strong desire to help restore those unwanted to a new, purposeful existence. We have seen God use these "broken" or "discarded horses" to reach other hearts that may feel broken or discarded. All horses, however, have an uncanny ability to "read" people's emotions and mirror them- which gives our kiddos an opportunity to practice recognizing and regulating their emotions. That is why for children that have been through trauma, almost any horse can be an incredible tool for therapy.
